Silver Maple Large Cookie Making It's Way To Being A Table I have had a few of these cookies drying in my shed for 4 years or so. It's finally time to do something with them. I think the overflowed epoxy being as huge a mess is because I used fast cure epoxy that has a working time in the 15 minute range.

In the end it was extremely difficult to get off with a sander so I ran the planer (router) over it again then finished with a lot more sanding. For the next one I will not waste time sanding prior to doing the inlay. Next cookie will be Plane flat - Inlay - Plane again - sand until I am well beyond sick of sanding.

Planing with a router leaves a lot of tool marks which is what takes all the sanding. I wonder if it's either a dull or cheapo router bit that causes that. By the way I use a huge Dewalt router and an manufactured aluminum sled that I have no regrets paying for. I have no time for home made sled nonsense.
