As I said in the video I have poured numerous gallons of epoxy and have gotten pretty good at it but never with thickener. And also have never tried applying to a round object before.
Normally I would sand down the hazy area and reapply doing a better job of torching out the air but I'm not sure if the hazy is the first coat or the second coat. The first coat came out almost all white (despite torching) and cured too thick. I probably used too much thickener.
So the problem at this point is how far down do I need to sand. The second you hit it with sand paper it all turns white so there is no telling when I get down far enough. As I typed this I just talked myself into trying just that and applying another coat with no thickener at all.
